Four types of move
- Self-move: you rent a van or truck and carry everything yourself, with friends or paid helpers.
- Van with driver and helpers: the moving company provides the vehicle and carriers; you pack.
- Full-service move: the company packs, takes furniture apart, transports, reassembles and can also fit the kitchen.
- Part-load (Beiladung): for small volumes or long distances, your goods share a truck with other customers.
The individual services we offer are listed under services.
What a good quote contains
Volume, number of helpers, floors and carry distance at both addresses, whether packing material is included and the cancellation terms.
The route has several legs
What counts is road distance along the real route, not the straight line.
| Leg | From → to | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Positioning | Depot → old address | Driving time and arrival time |
| Transport | Old address → new address | Main distance with a full load |
| Return | New address → depot | Part of the round trip |
| Side trips | Old address → recycling centre or storage | Disposal, storage or a second load |
| Carry distance | Van → front door at each address | Not kilometres but metres, and so time |
Local, regional or long distance
| Band | Approx. distance | What it means for planning |
|---|---|---|
| Local | under 50 km | Usually one day; one van can make several trips |
| Regional | 50–300 km | Drivers' working hours apply; often an early start |
| Long distance | over 300 km | Overnight stay for the crew; unloading the next day |
Approximate planning values, not measurements. Your furniture and household can differ considerably. The band limits are guide values.
Two more points: many cities have low-emission zones (Umweltzonen) that restrict older vehicles. And for local moves, traffic and time of day around both addresses often matter more than the kilometres. On long-distance moves the unloading day changes, and so does the no-parking zone at the destination.
In the moving planner you enter both addresses and the planner works out the distance. Together with the volume, it estimates the vehicle, crew and hours.
