Why the list decides so much
The inventory gives the volume, the number of boxes, the size of the van and the number of helpers. Forgotten items or guessed weights lead to a quote that is too low or a van that is too small. For each item, note the room, whether it moves and whether it can be taken apart.

Approximate planning values, not measurements. Your furniture and household can differ considerably. If in doubt, weigh large items yourself or check the manufacturer's details.
What is often forgotten
Kitchen (pots, crockery, cutlery, small appliances), bathroom, clothes, bedding, books, toys, tools, bicycles, plants, cellar contents and documents. Whatever does not move goes on a separate list for selling, donating or bulky waste.
What to carry yourself
Important documents, electronics such as laptops, and jewellery do not belong on the van. Take these with you.
